It has always been important for me to have a slight separation from this blog and the rest of my personal life; however, I have learned a lot in the past few days and felt it would be special to share a little piece. I originally had this post planned for earlier in the week, but the past few days have been a whirlwind, as my sweet grandfather passed away on Sunday. Although almost all of my family lives overseas, we have been working to make it possible for us all to be together in the coming week. After all, it is one of the things my dear grandfather instilled in all of us: family first, no matter what.
It was so special to spend time with my parents and brother in Washington D.C. this past weekend, where these pictures were taken. In a way, I feel as if my grandfather had planned for us to be together, especially on Sunday. I feel so lucky to be able to see them and the rest of my family in Amsterdam next week where we will celebrate the memories and life of my grandfather. It is best to hold a bright outlook, especially during the toughest times, and it is what I sincerely hope to give you within each of my posts. xx
