Winter Refresh

1. Scarf | 2. Earrings | 3. Lipstick | 4. Blouse (similar here) | 5. Heels | 6. Hat | 7. Handbag | 8. Cable Knit Sweater

Around this time of year, I begin to miss warmer temperatures and crave a bit of Vitamin D. Although it may be wishful thinking for a weather change here in Chicago, something that helps me to get through the rest of the winter is a little refresh of my wardrobe. Nothing major, just a few additions. I like to pick things that can take me into the Spring season, but that are also practical enough to be worn through the remainder of the winter. In order to stick to my budget, I choose accessories or basics that I know can be worn for both work and play. A new sweater, scarf and lipstick can only help to make the rest of the winter a bit brighter, right? What would be on your winter refresh list? xx

Snow Day

Jacket: Anthropologie (similar here) | Fur Vest: Zara (similar here) | Hat: Loft | Denim: Paige | Boots: Hunter | Purse: Forever 21

Hi love's! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend - yesterday was my first day off since Thanksgiving and I definitely made sure to enjoy it! On Saturday my friends and I tried out the new Dry Bar (I am now loving this hairspray) that opened up in Chicago and headed out for dinner afterwards. It was the perfect excuse to get all dressed up! The rest of my weekend was spent relaxing and enjoying the snowy city before my work schedule gets busy again. Hope you are all having a happy Tuesday! xx

Red Check

Jacket: J.Crew | Denim: AG | Flats: Tory Burch | Turtleneck: Splendid  | Sunnies: Tory Burch (similar here) | Purse: Forever 21

This past weekend in Chicago, the sun was out and we managed to reach 40 degrees! Although the wind was still bitter, I was so excited to get away with wearing something different from my big puffy winter coat. I had my eye on this red check jacket for quite some time and when I saw it went on major sale, I jumped on it. It is a bit different from the other jackets I own and I absolutely love the versatility of it. On Saturday night I wore it out for a dinner date with my boyfriend and then again on Sunday afternoon while running errands around town. Hope you are all having a fabulous week, so far! xx

Hi love's! I hope that you have all had a wonderful start to 2014. This past week was particularly busy with work. However, I can not express how happy I was just to be able to spend time working in New York City while being close to my family for an extended period. I had hoped to take more pictures while here in New York City to share with you, but my schedule did not allow for much downtime between work and braving the cold, brr!
I am flying back to Chicago this evening and will catch up with you when I return. Wishing you a happy Tuesday! xx

The Little Things

Happy New Year! I hope that you all had a wonderful, fun and safe time ringing in 2014!!
With the new year here, I thought that I would share something a bit different for this post. You will notice in my blog that I will mention "the little things" that bring inspiration to my daily life and personal style. In addition, I think that it is important to take time to notice the small things that can make a moment better. Sometimes, they are the most memorable parts to our days, weeks, or even lives. This year, I plan to remind myself to enjoy even the smallest things that occur in my day, as they may end up being the most special and memorable. What are your plans or New Year's resolutions for 2014? xx
