A Few Things

With another trip to New York City for work next week, I decided to combine my 'A Few Things' post with a collage of accessories for the working girl. Some are investment pieces, others are just an added dash of fun to a typical work necessity. Enjoy! xx

Winter White

Necklace: Benevolent Jewels (Enter BCBCODE20 for an extra 20% off) | Denim: AG Jeans via Anthropologie (similar here) | Sweater  and Heels: J.Crew | Sunnies: Tory Burch

During this time of year I start to crave my Spring and Summer clothes. By slowly adding pastel and lighter colors into the mix, it encourages me to be a bit more patient with the long Chicago winters. White jeans are one of my absolute favorite things I own in my Spring wardrobe. Although we are still experiencing some chilly temperatures in Chicago, I decided to break my white denim out a bit early. I recently purchased this necklace from Benevolent Jewels and love how it brings a fun pop to the rest of the outfit. You can check out how other bloggers are wearing winter white here: Trend Spin Link Up. Have a happy Tuesday! xx

Skin: Eucerin Cream | Aveda Face Lotion | Mario Badescu Hand Cream | Aveda Hyrdrating Masque

During this time of year, the cold temperatures leave my skin and hair a bit dryer than usual. Keeping tiny essentials with me at my work desk and inside my handbag are definitely key, as well as at home remedies. Above are a few of the products I like to use - pink hearts are next to my absolute favorites! What are some of yours? xx

Silver Statement

Necklace: Pink Pineapple Shop | Blouse and Heels: J.Crew | Denim: AG Jeans (similar herebudget friendly here) | Lipstick: Bare Minerals 'Call The Shots' | Jacket: Anthropologie | Sunnies: Tory Burch (similar here)

Whenever I am having difficulty picking out what to wear, I always go back to the basics and personalize my look with accessories. I recently purchased this pretty necklace from Pink Pineapple Shop and love that it is a statement piece, but that I can wear it with everything in my closet. I paired the necklace with a white blouse, distressed denim and my silver heels for fun. This outfit was worn later in the weekend for brunch with my girlfriends, except I switched out the metallic heels for short brown booties. I have a feeling this necklace will be getting a lot more wear in the coming months - I simply adore it! Happy Tuesday my dear's! xx

February Beauty

There is something about red nails and lipstick that always makes me feel extra chic. Being that it is Valentine's Day tomorrow, I think it is the perfect excuse to wear both! A few months ago I purchased the 'Marvelous Moxi Lipstick' from Bare Minerals. With the statement that red makes on it's own, I like to keep the rest of my makeup simple by pairing it with a bit of mascara and mixing my NARS illuminator into my foundation for added sparkle - mentioned in one of my past posts here. An all black ensemble, pearls and heels would be a fun and classic finish to the look. Have a wonderful time with your family and loved ones this weekend! xx

With Valentine's Day around the corner, I wanted to pull related goodies together into a collage - the best part, all are under $50. I always find the stores have some of the cutest things around this holiday. I picked up the J.Crew love notes recently and think that I will be writing them to family and friends throughout the year. Regardless of when, it is always fun to share a little bit of love. Enjoy! xx

Stripes and Fur

Striped Shirt: Gap (similar here) | Faux Fur Coat: Forever 21 | Pixie Pants: J.Crew | Necklace: ILY COUTURE | Flats: Tory Burch | Rings: M2 Boutique

Lately, I have been trying to mix a few Spring items into my outfits. Striped shirts are not only a wardrobe staple of mine, but on constant repeat during the Spring season. I recently found this coat hidden in the corner of the sale racks in downtown Chicago, at Forever 21. Personally, I think it was meant to be! Since purchasing it, I have been dressing the coat up to wear out in the evening. However, I kind of love the idea of dressing it down during the day, as it is fun and bright for the wintery and cold Chicago weather still ahead. On top of it all, whenever I wear this coat I feel a bit like I am from old Hollywood. A girl can dream, right? xx
