Shades of Spring

Essie Nail Polish in 'find me an oasis' and 'tart deco' | YSL Lipstick in 'Rouge Volupte Shine' | Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss in 'Hot Pink' | Bare Minerals Original Foundation | NARS Blush

Spring is finally here and after a long Chicago winter I could not be more excited! This past weekend, I picked up a few nail polish's to prep for the warmer weather. I am loving the light blue trend and found this Essie polish in the color 'find me an oasis.' For the most part, I like to keep my makeup simple (currently adoring this neutral lipstick from YSL), but a bright pink lip gloss is a fun spruce up to my regular makeup routine. In addition, I am starting to focus more on a foundation with SPF and find that bare minerals is not only that, but also sensitive enough for my skin. What are some of the beauty products you are loving right now? xx

Classic Trench

Trench Coat: Michael Kors via Nordstrom Rack (similar here and here) | Striped Tee: Goodnight Macaroon (similar here) | Pixie Pants: J.Crew | Flats: Tory Burch

Chicago is still chilly, but we are starting to experience a few warmer temperatures! I know that we will soon go into our rainy season and wanted to be more than prepared by finding a classic trench coat. While shopping at Nordstrom Rack recently, I found this adorable trench from Michael Kors. Not only was the price point great, but it is a staple and classic for any wardrobe. When shopping at discount stores, I always ask myself if I would buy something for full price. If my answer is yes, I know that I am getting a good deal and that it's worth the investment. Rain or shine, this jacket will be perfect for Spring! xx

Early Spring Investments

Striped Shirt: Saint James | Denim: Paige | Sunnies: Ray-Ban |  | Casual Sneakers: Superga | Scarf: Kate Spade | Trench Coat: Burberry (budget friendly here) | Maxi Skirt: J.Crew Factory | Nude Pumps: Sam Edelman | Cashmere Sweater: J.Crew

Happy first day of Spring! Here in Chicago it generally takes a bit longer for the temperatures to warm up, so I thought I would post an 'early Spring' list. Sleeveless blouses and sandals will have to wait a bit longer, but a fun printed scarf and casual metallic sneakers are a fun spruce up for the coming weeks. I invested in a Saint James shirt while on a trip to Paris with my mother last Spring and it has definitely proven to be a closet staple. Cashmere sweaters are also perfect for this time of year, as you can continue to wear them into early Summer. What is on your Spring shopping list? xx

Tweed Jacket

Tweed Jacket: Forever 21 (similar) | Olive Jeans: 7FAM (similar) | Turtleneck: Splendid | Wallet: Tory Burch | Bracelets: Gigglosophy and Madewell | Earrings: Kate Spade

These olive pants have been on constant repeat the past few weeks. Don't get me wrong, I love my blue denim, but sometimes it is fun to mix it up with another neutral option. Here I paired them with a tweed jacket, pearls and a few gold accessories. A simple and classic look always ends up being my favorite! xx

Spring Beauty Buys

Laura Mercier Eye Color | Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder | Aveda Body Lotion | Fresh Face Cream | Diptyque Candle | Deborah Lippman Nail Color | Yves Saint Laurent Lipstick | Bobbi Brown Concealer Kit | Kate Spade Makeup Case (on sale!)

Happy Thursday my dear's! Just putting this collage together has me ready for Spring. The Deborah Lippman nail polish's are definitely first on my list for Spring beauty buys. In addition, I recently received a sample of this Fresh face cream. I have very sensitive skin and am picky about the skincare I use, but I love how soft and moisturized it has made my face feel. Last but not least, I am adoring this makeup case from Kate Spade to hold all of my beauty goodies - best of all, it is currently on sale. xx

Sunny Days Ahead

Vest: J.Crew | Top: Lululemon | Pants: Lululemon (old) | Sunnies: Ray-Ban | Sneakers: Nike (I love these for running long distance!)

This past weekend I took the train home from New York City to spend extra time with my parents in Connecticut before heading back to Chicago. After a busy week in the city it was so special to have a casual weekend relaxing with my family. When heading down for a run to the beach, I switched out the heavy coat and heels from earlier in the week with comfortable clothes and a light vest. The weather was so pretty and best of all, it was a reminder that there are warmer and more sunny days ahead! xx

A Tiny Break

Monogram Mug: Anthropologie | Tray: Target | Makeup Case: Blue Mercury | Ring: M2 Chicago | Socks: J.Crew (no longer available) |

Happy Friday! The past few weeks have been particularly busy with work and travel. A cup of tea and at home manicure has always been my go to remedy when in need of a little break. However, since starting this blog in September, it has become a new way for me to take a tiny break from day to day activities by sharing my thoughts and inspirations. Although my job and personal schedule keep me busy, I love this space dearly. I am excited about growing it further and making it a place that you can escape to as your own tiny break, while still feeling as if you can relate to the material I post.

Have a wonderful weekend my love's and thank you for stopping by! xx

Tall Suede Boots

Suede Boots: Tahari (similar here and here) | Jacket: T.J.Maxx | Pixie Pants: J.Crew | Purse: Forever 21(similar) | Sunnies: Tory Burch

I don't know what it is, but these tall suede boots give me an extra little boost of confidence whenever I wear them - it could just be because I am 5'3 and any added height is exciting! Regardless, they are the perfect dressy boot for this time of the year. Here, I paired them with my utility jacket and favorite black pixie pants. Although this pair are on my wish list, the price tag is not practical for me at the moment. I found these Tahari boots last Winter and have linked similar versions above that more closely match a working girl's budget. Retailers are having end of season sales, so it's the perfect time to buy. Enjoy! xx

In My Work Bag

Cell phone case: J.Crew (no longer available online) | Sunnies: Tory Burch (similar) | Makeup Case: Deux Lux via T.J.Maxx (similar) | Lip Gloss: Bobbi Brown | Mascara: L'OREAL | Key Ring Wallet: Kate Spade (similar)

Hi my love's - I am back in The Big Apple for work this week. I am not sure about you, but when I pack I simply want to bring everything with me! In order to prevent my bag from feeling weighed down while running around the city, I try to pack essentials first and then add accordingly. My laptop and agenda take first priority. A smaller wallet and sunnies are next on the list, followed by a few personal items and beauty products for midday or after work touchups. I am looking forward to another busy few days in this fun city - have a wonderful Monday and start to your week! xx
