Summer Wishlist

Bralette: Top Shop |  Denim Shorts: J.Crew | Necklace: Baublebar |  Tank: J.Crew | Skirt: Joie (on sale!) | Wedges: Kate Spade | Scarf: J.Crew | Handbag: Rebecca Minkoff

At the start of each season, I focus on investing in new basics and then do my (very) best to pick out only a couple of trendy pieces or accessories. Summer whites are number one on my wish list every year, as I wear them more than anything else. I especially love this skirt from Joie. Best of all, it's on sale! Tassels and pom-poms seem to be everywhere lately - this scarf from J.Crew is a fun way to incorporate the trend. I have been loving navy and black mixed with white. Even though they are darker tones for Summer, I love the classic and chic feel they give to an outfit. A basic tank with a little bit of added flare is a cute and basic addition, and this bralette from Top Shop will serve us the perfect little layer under my sheer blouses and sweaters. What are some of the items on your Summer wish list? Happy first week of Summer! xx

Amsterdam

Sweater: Zara | Denim: J Brand | Flats: Aldo (similar here) | Headband: Forever 21 | Medallion Bracelet: Waiting on Martha

On our last day in Holland, my family and I spent the day in downtown Amsterdam. The weather and sun allowed us to enjoy some time at a few outdoor cafes, sites and shops. Amsterdam has always been one of my favorite city's to visit as there is such a classic and old town feel to it. The little canal's, brick roads and gardens along the streets add an extra and unique character. While in Washington D.C. the previous weekend, I picked up this little jacket from Zara. I will admit that I wore it three out of the five days I was in Holland, as it was the perfect added layer for the chillier days and evenings - I wasn't able to find it online, but definitely check your local Zara store to see if they still have it! My trusty ballet flats and a pair of dark denim pulled the outfit together, making it comfortable and easy for a fun last day! xx

A Bright Outlook

Top: Susana Monaco (similar here) | Shorts: Forever 21 | Sandals: Rebecca Minkoff | Hat: J.Crew

It has always been important for me to have a slight separation from this blog and the rest of my personal life; however, I have learned a lot in the past few days and felt it would be special to share a little piece. I originally had this post planned for earlier in the week, but the past few days have been a whirlwind, as my sweet grandfather passed away on Sunday. Although almost all of my family lives overseas, we have been working to make it possible for us all to be together in the coming week. After all, it is one of the things my dear grandfather instilled in all of us: family first, no matter what.

It was so special to spend time with my parents and brother in Washington D.C. this past weekend, where these pictures were taken. In a way, I feel as if my grandfather had planned for us to be together, especially on Sunday. I feel so lucky to be able to see them and the rest of my family in Amsterdam next week where we will celebrate the memories and life of my grandfather. It is best to hold a bright outlook, especially during the toughest times, and it is what I sincerely hope to give you within each of my posts. xx

Saturday Style

Top: Topshop | Denim Shorts: Paige (similar here) | Sunnies: Ray Ban | Handbag: Rebecca Minkoff | Sandals: Sam Edelman

Happy Saturday! This outfit is easy, breezy and perfect for my weekend festivities here in Washington D.C. Light layers are my go to when traveling in the warmer months - especially, with the D.C. heat! Even better, silk tanks can easily be dressed up with a pair of wedges or long white denim in the evening - perfect for a long weekend! I am so happy to be able to spend time with my brother and parents this weekend. I have missed them and even though my trip is short, I wouldn't trade it for anything. I may have snuck in the Georgetown cupcake, as no trip is complete with out a little bit of something sweet - enjoy the rest of your weekends! xx

Summer Details

Candle: Diptyque | Polish: Essie (Find Me An Oasis) | Tray: Target (similar) | Jewelry Box: Target | Book: The One Hundred

Last night, I did a bit of rearranging around our apartment. My mom gave me this Starfish just before moving in which always reminds me of home, Summer days and beach living. This little corner of usually holds my perfume, jewelry box, and a few other knick knacks, but I thought a change for the Summer months would be a sweet little refresh. I am always looking for ways to switch around a few things for the new season and this slight change is leaving me more excited than ever for the warmer days to come! Do you have any other ideas for Summer decor? xx

Floral Maxi

Maxi Dress: Forever 21 (similar here and here) | Hat: J.Crew | Sandals: Rebecca Minkoff via Shopbop

This past weekend the weather was gorgeous! I decided it was the perfect time to pull out a flowy maxi dress for a day spent with friends. The dress skims just above the ground, so I was super excited that I would not need to get it altered. I love the sheer skirt at the bottom and for the price I could not pass it by. Even if the dress only holds up for one season, it is a fun trendy piece for the Summer. I paired the dress with my panama hat to keep cool in the heat and my new favorite Rebecca Minkoff sandals. An easy look for a fun day - have a wonderful Tuesday! xx
