Spring Awakening

Hi love's! I am officially moved into my NYC apartment and have definitely had a "pinch me" moment... about every five minutes! You can see a little peek into my room here. On my way to work yesterday morning, I got lost on Wall Street, but was so happy just to be in the city that it left no time for panic. I simply told myself I was Charlotte York and could handle anything!

To get through the end of Winter, I thought it would be fun to compile a Spring wish list. Even if the items cannot all be worn now, it is fun to start being creative with ideas for next season. I know that I have a strong weakness for headbands, but seriously how cute is this one? It would simply add just the right amount of sparkle to any outfit. I recently purchased these wedges from Piperlime and this striped shirt because I knew they would serve as the perfect staples in my closet for the coming months. What is on your Spring wish list? xx

Weekend Inspiration

Here is a little style inspiration for the coming days. Although it still feels like Winter outside, I am starting to mix in lighter colors to bring out a brighter look. On any given weekend, you can probably find me in skinny denim, booties and a cozy turtleneck sweater - they are the one reason why I absolutely love Winter! I can't believe tomorrow is moving day. I am so excited to spend my first official weekend living in New York City - have a wonderful Thursday! xx

Good As New

Jacket: J.Crew (similar here, love these options) | Turtleneck: J.Crew | Skirt: Theory (similar here) | Heels: DSW | Hat: Eric Javits

Lately, I have been focusing on finding ways to remix my closet so that it can be worn for different occasions. Since purchasing this jacket from J.Crew last year, I have worn it countless times. I love how it instantly dresses up a casual look, while still feels fresh and new every time. With the bright red color, I thought it would be the perfect outfit inspiration for this weekend's holiday. Wishing you and your loved ones an extra sweet Valentine's Day! xx

Pretty Little Things

During this time of year, I love all of the cute accessories and products that are in stores for Valentine's Day. Along with spoiling loved ones during this holiday, there is no harm in treating yourself to a little something too! I am especially loving these pajamas for cozy evenings, a new scented candlethis scarf to brighten up chilly walks to work, and these adorable cards - it might even be fun to frame a few and place them through out the bedroom in my new apartment. After all, can a girl ever have enough pretty little things? xx

A Fresh Beauty Routine

It's been a while since I have updated my makeup routine. I recently ran out of my regular products, so decided to take a chance by trying something new. Whenever purchasing new beauty products or going into a cosmetic store I like to refer to my "Glam" board on Pinterest. From the start I knew I was going for a clean, simple and dewy look. Soon enough, I came home with a fresh makeup routine and even more love for Laura Mercier products. This primer and foundation are the perfect combination. In addition, I picked up this oil which is just what is needed for the winter months on your skin and lips, chose to go with this blush and stick eye shadow. One extra little thing I purchased was a new eyelash curler - it's easy to use and the size makes it wonderful for travel! xx

Homemade Hot Cocoa

To me, there is nothing better than staying in on a chilly day curled up with a cup of hot cocoa. Here is a recipe that my family and I have been making since I was little. There is something about homemade hot cocoa that just makes it that much better.

2 teaspoons of cocoa powder
2 teaspoons of sugar
1 cup of milk or cream

Mix the cocoa powder and sugar together in a mug. Add in a bit of milk to create a paste with the cocoa powder and sugar at the bottom of the mug. Stir in 1 cup of milk or cream. Add marshmallows, whip cream, or a sprinkle of cinnamon and enjoy! xx
