New Year's Inspiration

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday with loved ones! I thought it would be fun to pull a little inspiration post together for my packing list this weekend. Better yet, most items are on sale. What do you have planned? We are heading to the Hamptons and I could not be more excited. There is something so special to me about spending time at the beach during the off season. If you have any recommendations of things to do near Hamptons Bay, I would love to hear.

On that note, thank you for checking in each week and following along on this little blog of mine. I sincerely hope it is a fun place to visit, where you can escape the ordinary and find inspiration. Each post is truly a reflection of my favorite things and I love being able to share it with you. I promise, there is so much to look forward to in 2017. My goal for the new year is to continue finding excitement in little things throughout the day. That's been my motto since first starting this blog, finding bright inspiration in the little things, and has truly stuck with me. I challenge you to do the same! You never know when something wonderful may happen, just keep looking up. xx

Dear Santa

It's not too late to pick something special for those still on your list. This little key ring is an adorable stocking stuffer or would pair adorably with a bottle of wine for a hostess gift. The 'Holiday' candle from NEST is consistently burning in my apartment during this time of year, leading me to think my sweet friends would love it just as much! I also love this beauty product set for holiday festivities and these sugar candies - there is a Sugarfina in my neighborhood that has the cutest treats! Little luxuries like slippers, cozy pajamas, or a new perfume are always thoughtful and cozy ideas too. For more bright inspiration, check out my previous gift guides here: Book Club, For Him, For Her. Wishing you safe travels in the coming days and a very merry holiday! xx

Happy Wednesday - a little mid-week treat to get you even closer to the holidays! One of my favorite retailers, Shopbop, is having a major sale. Now through December 15, all sale items are an extra 30% off - I simply can't resist. Last night, I did some digging and found pieces that would make the perfect gifts, items for the current season or warm weather getaways. Speaking of, I hope you all are staying cozy and warm! xx

The Holidays in New York

Every day, I am so thankful to live in my pretty city. However, this time of year is particularly special to me in New York. The shops and window displays are booming with music and garland. City sidewalks are filled with evergreen trees and patrons are bundled up with warm drinks in hand. Every year, since I was very young, my family would come into the city to see all that it had to offer during the holidays. Here are 7 things I think you would love and will surely not want to miss:

1. Get hot chocolate and stroll Central Park - Ralph's Coffee is a favorite during the holidays

2. Stop for a festive cocktail and enjoy the holiday décor - I recently went to Bobo Restaurant in West Village and it felt like we were in a Nancy Meyers movie

3. Step into Lauduree for a sweet treat - their décor is simply divine

4. Ice-skating in Bryant Park

5. Rockefeller Center - no matter how big the crowds are, I promise it's always worth seeing the tree (it doesn't hurt that there are also a few places like here and there for last minute holiday shopping!)

6. Window displays on Madison & Fifth Avenue - I particularly always love the ones found at Bergdorf Goodman and Tiffany & Co.

7. Tea at The Plaza Hotel - because Eloise will forever hold a special place in my heart!

Gift Guide: For Her

When it comes to gifts I love treating my favorite ladies and best girlfriends to something they do not usually give themselves. The Bite lipsticks are a new found love - this gift set is such a fun idea! For those who love to entertain, this cheeseboard (marble and monogram? Yes, please!will surely be put to use. Add a bottle of wine and your next girls night is planned! This S'well bottle and these sneakers are perfect for those on the go. I love Trish McEvoy's products and think they pair perfectly with a cozy set of pajamas like these. This duffle bag (originally styled here) is a favorite with my readers, which leads me to believe mostly anybody on your list would agree. And, if your looking to splurge on a little something for yourself, this pair of flats will be a classic for years to come. Don't forget a handwritten note with a few sweet words, it's the thought that matters most! xx

Gift Guide: For Him

I love being able to treat guys to something special during the holidays. My dad and brother are very practical and always tell me that they don't want gifts - just to spend Christmas together! Above are a few gift ideas at different price points. My brother has this coat and wears it consistently from Fall through Spring! These are a perfect stocking stuffer and ideal for my father's early morning runs outside. Both of them also love fun socks, to wear under their work suits. It seems to be the trend lately and is a fun way to add a little character to the regular business look. I am also loving this wallet, any watch from this brand, and fun whiskey bar set - it's never too early to start the holiday festivities! xx

From Desk to Glam

With year end, work is particularly busy and leaves less time to get ready or pop home to prepare for holiday festivities. Therefore, I like to pack extra items that can be added on my outfit, post work. Above are a few pieces that are ideal little additions to take you from desk to glam. I always begin with a basic and chic dress, blouse or skirtA red lip, my go-to mascara, necklace with added sparkle, and over the knee boots will instantly elevate your look. It truly is the little things that make all the difference. Better yet, these items can be mixed and matched for other events. This leaves extra room in your budget for a holiday manicure or fun cocktail with friends during another occasion! xx
