Wishlist For Fall

Fall is just around the corner - can you believe it? Here are a few of the things I am looking to refresh and update my closet with for the new season. Basics are my favorite pieces to update since I constantly mix and match them with everything in my closet. This tee in both black and white are at the top of the list for me. I also wore this crewneck tee on repeat last year and love the brand overall, a bit cheaper and great quality. A few of the other things I am loving are all things leather, booties and fresh denim. I have been a headband addict all my life, so it was impossible to ignore this little piece while stumbling upon it - especially since it's leopard. What is at the top of your list for the new season? xx

Travel Essentials

Sharing some of the things that have been tried and true in my travel routine. With a number of trips the last few months and more coming up, there are quite a few things I have realized are on repeat in my packing list. I mentioned this backpack and sneakers in a previous post and can't say enough good things. Not only great for my day to day in the city, but also travel! These hair ties are truly the best I have ever tried. They don't pull on your hair and add a cute flair. I never forget my travel wrap - the coziest piece which can double as both a blanket on the plane and cute layer in the evening. A few other things I can never leave behind are these cosmetic bags, this refreshing spray and favorite lotion with the most idealistic scent. What's always on your packing list? xx

5 Good Things

Returning with a little post on 5 things that are making me happy, with the hopes that it will bring some joy to you also! It is always helpful to take a step back and truly appreciate those things that make you smile; no matter how big or small they might be.

1. While in Martha's Vineyard we attended a restorative yoga class one morning at The Yoga Barn. It was such a refreshing changeup from the more intensive hot yoga and spin classes I take in New York City. I am now eager to find a spot in Manhattan!

2. A focus on self-care has definitely taken a front seat lately. Ursa Major is a brand that has found more and more shelf space in my bathroom lately. I love the natural ingredients and it keeps my skin feeling clean, consistent and fresh. If you haven't' tried it yet, I recommend starting out with their vitamin C serum or face wash

3. I was able to spend two full weeks in a row with loved ones this month and it made everything feel right in the world again.

4. The house in the above photo, is practically a dream! I took this photo while in Martha's Vineyard and simply fell in love with all of it's details. From the climbing roses on the fence to the little window boxes. I am always looking for new sources of inspiration. It certainly helps to stop and smell the roses - pun intended!

5. I have been doing my best to make more time for reading, as it truly helps me to unwind. A couple of the books on my nightstand right now are: Bel Canto and Where the Crawdads Sing. If you have any other suggestions, I would love to hear.

Trending Favorite's

There are always specific pieces in my closet that tend to be on repeat during each season. I love to take note of these items, because it helps to define my personal style that much more. The title of this post doesn't necessarily refer to current "trends" on the runway, but those things that are trending within my personal closet. This dress is the perfect casual item to throw into your suitcase. It goes with everything and has the perfect feminine touch with it's eyelet details. This top just keeps on giving - I have worn it countless times since purchasing in March and it's held up so incredibly well. And these sandals? They are so comfortable and match everything in my Summer wardrobe. Shop more of the trending items from my closet below! xx

Martha's Vineyard

With July 4th around the corner, it was the perfect time for us to extend the holiday. We are heading up to Martha's Vineyard for the week and I could not be more excited for some time away. Some of my favorite things about Summer in New England are evenings spent by the water, morning sunrises, and seafood. We are excited for all of that and much more! At the top of my packing list was a denim jacket and my favorite sunhat. I also threw in these sandals and white denim. What are your go-to items for Summer vacations? Have a safe and happy holiday! xx

Summer Wishlist

Another season, another wishlist! Can you blame me? I had my eye on these little sandals and finally gave in - the price can't be beaten, seriously! I saw that my favorite sunhat from last season is still in stock. Trust me when I say this, you'll wear it all Summer long. I splurged on these heels for this Summer's wedding season and am in love with this adorable blouse. Flare denim is my go-to on the weekends during Winter, and I love this fun version for the warmer months! Perfect with a crop top and heels. What's on your wish list for this season? xx

Currently Adoring

Here are some of the things I have been loving lately! I recently purchased this backpack after having my eye on it for quite some time. The tote version has always been a favorite for travel, but I was looking for something that would make carrying my laptop easier - it's so cute and lightweight! This brand makes amazing denim. I wear this pair on a regular basis and they are so comfortable. Speaking of comfort, I have mentioned these leather sneakers before and they are great for weekends spent playing tourist in the city. Lastly, I am loving this classic little dress and have been looking for the perfect white tee to layer under my denim jackets. You can never underestimate the power of a white tee! xx

Northern California: Travel Guide

We arrived home from California at the end of last week and it was a sweet dream. Our restaurant, vineyard and hotel reservations were made ahead of the trip and we fell in love with all, so I thought it would be helpful to list them out in case you are ever looking to make a trip out West. It was the perfect mix between site seeing, relaxation and delicious food!

The trip started in San Francisco where we picked up our rental car and headed to Napa Valley for the night. After visiting Silver Oak and Heitz Cellars, we went to dinner at Charter Oak. Everything from the twinkle lights, wood fire ovens, and tables which each had individual drawers for your utensils added to the wonderful charm. I can't recommend it enough!

On Friday, we grabbed breakfast at the bed and breakfast we were staying at called The Bergson. We headed to a couple more vineyards, Gargiulo Vineyards and Robert Foley, before driving down to Half Moon Bay for a wedding.

On Sunday morning, we packed up our things and drove along highway 1 to Big Sur where there were the most amazing views. We stumbled across the most special little place for lunch called Coast. Photos don't even do it justice!

After enjoying the scenery, we drove to Carmel and checked into La Playa Carmel. It was the perfect part of the trip to spend some time relaxing. We grabbed dinner at Cultura the first night and La Bicylcette, the second. Both are new found favorite's!

After a couple days of slower pace, we headed back to San Francisco and checked into Mansion on Sutter. We grabbed dinner and drinks with friends on Charmaine's rooftop, which was such a treat!

The next morning, we flew back to the East coast with happy hearts, full bellies and forever memories. xx

California Girl

We are flying out to California this week and I can't wait to explore more of the West Coast! Our first stop will be Napa, then we will continue onto Half Moon Bay, Big Sur, Carmel, and end in San Francisco. Generally, I like to fit everything in my carry on, so a list of items is helpful, before starting to pack. As always, my denim jacket and white jeans will play major roles throughout the trip, but I also am packing a few pieces to tie into my outfits and mix things up. I'm excited to share a full travel guide in a future post! xx

Recent NYC Restuarants

Sharing a few recent restaurants I've been to lately and absolutely loved! There is always something new to try in the big apple. However, I love hearing other reviews and find them helpful. Read below for a few spots that I highly recommend:

1. Restoration Hardware Cafe
If you're looking for a trendy spot and love interiors, this is surely the place for you. Grab a glass of bubbly while you shop around the store and end the cocktail hour with a meal on the rooftop.

2. Bubby's (Highline)
My parents and I went here for brunch, before heading to the Whitney museum to see the Andy Warhol exhibit. We got there early on a Saturday morning and let me just tell you, so worth it! The food, coffee and upbeat music created the perfect vibe to start our day.

3. Gran Tivoli
This restaurant recently opened and is SO.GOOD. The food and service is incredible and it's so cozy inside! Everything from their pastas, to risotto, and their bread basket are delicious. We even had a couple celebrity sightings. All I am saying is, go!

4. Peppi's Cellar
It's actually connected to Gran Tivoli listed above and has the cutest speakeasy feel. Walk through the restaurant and head downstairs. They have the best craft cocktails. Definitely a spot not to miss.

5. Up Thai
Throwing in an affordable and easy spot. Who doesn't love a little bit of Thai food? I love this place for takeout and it certainly helps prevent the Sunday scaries.

 Bon appetit! xx

Shopbop Sale

Popping in to share some of my favorite items from the Shopbop sale which is lasting now through April 12. Shopbop is one of my favorite sites to scout out the latest styles. I love checking out their 'What's New' section and always search for my favorite denim brands. It can be tricky to order things online and at times overwhelming to search through so many items. So, whenever a sale like this comes up, I stick to the basics and investing in quality items that are in need of an update with my wardrobe. A classic dresscashmere sweater and Summer heels are the top items I searched for this time around. Generally, I stick to my favorite brands, so that I am confident in sizing, but should anything go wrong they always have free returns. Happy shopping! xx

Spring Forward Favorite's

At the start of each new season, I always envision a selection of items that can take me through the next few months. A new pair of sandals are the perfect start - how sweet are those little bows? I am also loving this dress! There are also so many cashmere sweaters out in the prettiest pastels right now. Pair them with your favorite pair of white denim and outfit is made! Or, dress it up a bit more with a set of hoop earrings for after hours. All in all, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the items shown above! xx

Vitamin Sea

We are flying down to Florida next week and I could not be more excited to soak up some much-needed vitamin "sea." I am throwing in my favorite warm weather pieces. White jeans and my denim jacket are always the first items I grab for the plane ride. Although I am keeping it short and sweet with my accessories, this hat and SPF will definitely be making their way into my bag, no matter what. Have a wonderful week, friends! xx

Skincare & Beauty Routine

I generally try to stick to a simple routine with my skincare and beauty. With travel and a busy lifestyle, it's easier to make things less complicated and rely on only a few select products. Similar to my wardrobe, I truly believe in saving my pennies to invest in quality products. Not much has changed from this post, when it comes to my skincare routine, but I recently added in this moisturizer and exfoliant. They are the perfect additions and with their smaller packaging, easily fit into my toiletry bag for travel. I have included all of my current makeup and skincare essentials below. It's certainly a defined list, but they all blend together (pun intended) and do just the trick! xx

Although a few of these items are definitely splurge worthy, it never hurts to make a wishlist. It always helps me to define what I really would love, or things that can wait for another time. I love a good bow and this little number is perfect for Spring or evenings out. These glow drops have gotten the best reviews and I am curious to try. This cute top is ideal for the current temperature and could be dressed up, or down. And, I am loving these earrings, this headband and bracelet. The perfect little additions to spice up any outfit. xx

5 Good Things

It's always good to end your week on a high note! Towards the end of Winter, it is easy to fall into a little slump. The chilly temperatures certainly don't help and it's during this time of year that I am ready for more sun! I have started to practice a bit more gratitude lately. It sometimes can be difficult to build yourself up, when life gets busy, but there are always positive things you can remind yourself of. Here are 5 good things to be thankful for:

1. Plan a getaway: We have a few trips scheduled for the upcoming months, which are all in sunny places. It will be extra sweet to catch up on some much needed Vitamin D.

2. The little things : Fresh flowers, candles or an at-home manicure. Sometimes taking time to self pamper, is just what the doctor ordered.

3. Health & fitness: It's so important to keep yourself active. I have been prioritizing at least two fitness classes during the week and as many runs as I can fit in during the weekend in Central Park. It's the perfect mental break!

4. Career focus: A job that affords me to live in New York City and work in the retail marketing industry is what I have been working towards my entire career. Limit the pressure! Being thankful for what you do have, while also working towards your next step is the perfect way to think about things.

5. Catch up with friends: The majority of my best friends live in different places throughout the country. Carving out specific times in our calendars to catch up each week over the phone is so important. It always makes me feel like myself again and reminds me that no matter the distance, true friendships will always last.

No matter what, always take some time to go back to the basics and consider what truly matters. And remember, Spring is just around the corner! xx

Treat yourself this weekend:

Winter Wardrobe

My winter wardrobe has been on heavy repeat lately. This leaves me with more of a sense as to which pieces are sincere favorites and the most worn in my closet. My parents gave me this cashmere scarf for my birthday. It has been the nicest addition to my morning commute and added layer for travel. This pair of denim, white long sleeved tee, and black turtleneck pair perfectly with everything I own. I have had my winter coat for over 5 years. Certainly worth the price and a cute staple! These boots are another item I have spent numerous seasons with and solid investment that are at the top of my recommendation list. Other items I am loving are vests like this one and long cardigans, which are not only cozy layers, but the perfect last minute addition to any Winter outfit! What are your favorite pieces during this time of year? xx

Stowe, VT

We planned a little getway to Stowe, Vermont last weekend and it could not have been a more picturesque way to spend my birthday. It truly was as if we were in a real-life snowglobe. The first night we arrived a huge snow storm rolled in, which set the tone for a perfectly cozy weekend. I packed my warm weather essentials like this cashmere scarf, winter parka, and loungewear to be worn by the fire. These snow boots were on heavy rotation. They were the ideal pairing for both leather leggings in the evening and my favorite overalls during travel. We still have some time left in the chilly season, so I thought it would be fun to share my packing list below. Many of which can be worn and added to your daily Winter wardrobe. Investing in a few pieces can only help to make each chilly day that much brighter! xx

Happy New Year! It has started to get quite chilly here in the city and I have found myself reaching for the same pieces to keep me warm. I am loving this cocoon coat - the high neck and structured wool fabric are perfect for both day or night. This scarf is a game changer for brisk mornings and I continue to wear these knee-high boots year after year. Seriously, such a good investment! This brand is my new favorite for cashmere sweaters. A bit pricey for my regular city budget, but they truly last and are so well made! Similar to the boots mentioned above, it would be an investment you could wear for seasons to come. Lastly, I am loving my high-waisted jeans for ev-ery-thing lately. Perfect to tuck in my favorite turtleneck, or paired with a crop sweater. What are you loving right now? xx
